Numerical schlieren movie of the DNS of a reflected shockwave and turbulent boundary layer interaction

The flow deflection through the incident shock is 12°, the Mach number of the incoming boundary layer is 2.9 and the Reynolds number based on momentum thickness is 2300. A streamwise-wall normal plane of the entire domain is shown. The flow is from left to right. The contours shown are of a nonlinear map of the magnitude of the density gradient. The movie spans a time of approximately 110 delta/Uinf, where delta is the thickness of the incoming boundary layer and Uinf is the freestream velocity.
